Ready or not, the first teenage year of the century is under way. Most of us were relieved that the initial “impending doom” event was averted right away with Congress passing legislation to avert our plunge over the fiscal cliff.

There are eighty-eight counties in the State of Ohio. Every year each of them hosts its own County Fair. In addition to the showing and judging of livestock, produce and baked goods, there is entertainment of all kinds. County Fairs are meant to be a time of community celebration.

For several years now, One Write has sent teams to the annual Continuous Improvement Conference sponsored by the Printing Industry of America. This year we traveled to St. Louis and for three days we learned how other companies have used lean ideas to strengthen their organizations.

Every month like the lunar cycle, a van pulls up to the entrance of One Write. After a long time, our cleaning supplies salesman from Handicapped Associates, Jerry Spangler enters.

It is the Holiday Season and there is a lot on every plate. Preparation for the gatherings, the meals and the celebrations to come takes time and energy.

Every fall there is a sense of anticipation that comes with the opening of Graph Expo, the Printing Industry’s annual exhibition held at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.

Last May the One Write fun bus outing traveled to Cincinnati to watch the Pirates defeat the Reds. Little did we realize then that One Write and the Pirates would be involved together in a campaign to fight against hunger.

Driving on US Route 40 through Ohio, you sometimes notice stones set up at intervals at the side of the highway. They are the Old National Road milestones which were used to measure the progress of a trip for the early travelers.

While it is true that One Write is located in Ohio, it would not generally be considered anywhere near Cincinnati, Ohio. So when the suggestion arose to have a company outing at a Reds game, it was met with some raised eyebrows.

Last week a team of eight One Write Employees traveled from Lancaster, Ohio to Kansas City, Missouri for an important Printing Industries of America event.

There are certain times when it is clear that you are in the presence of something extraordinary. Last Friday we experienced that here at One Write.

Our company Wellness Program has a great supporter in the community’s hospital, Fairfield Medical Center. Last Wednesday the FMC team brought their traveling health fair to One Write.

These days most companies have a Wellness Program. It just makes sense to provide information and opportunities to employees so that they can live healthier lives. In the long run the company actually benefits from less absence due to illness and better productivity.

As 2010 ended there were plenty of opportunities to look back. “Best Of” and “Worst Of” lists as well as “Year in Review” articles appeared daily. Opinions varied.

In the remaining weeks of 2010 a large percentage of our church customers will require timely delivery of their orders.

September 15th was an unusual day at One Write. Over a quarter of our employees were absent! However, it wasn’t an outbreak of swine flu or trouble of any kind. It was actually a good thing.

We at One Write are excited about some new changes that we’ll be able to offer our customers in 2011. Over the past few months we’ve given a lot of thought toward what we currently have to offer our customers, and how we can make it better.

One Write’s purpose is to support the act of giving. The most important way we can do this is by providing our customers with the highest quality at the lowest possible price.
